Chris Edelstein continued on his offensive streak, going 3-for-4 with 3 singles, 1 run batted in, and a stolen base. He managed to raise his batting average from .261 to .419 over the course of the double header. Hale pitched a pretty good game, keeping the Horns in it 'til the end. Sadly, Halter was not able to shut the Cyclones down when he came on in the 9th.

[Grumble alert!] The Horns pulled out the ever-popular (that's called sarcasm, boys and girls) intentional walk play twice today. Both intentionally walked batters (actually, it was the same batter both times) scored. Why the team walked a .303 hitter to get to a .405 hitter baffles me no end. Honestly, I understand the desire to set up the double play. But, why not at least pitch carefully to the batter you want to walk (maybe he'll do something to help you out) rather than just give up entirely on the idea of pitching to him? Ugh. I hate it. Hate it. Hate it. By the way, since the last time I wrote about this, the Horns have taken their record of intentionally walked players who end up scoring from 5-of-9 (.556) to 8-of-13 (.615) in the games I've scored this year. Those are miserable odds. Have I mentioned how much I hate this play?

And so...
