Boy, when this team lets one get away, they go whole hog. There's really not much to say about the game. The weather was gorgeous: sunny and 85 deg. F with the wind blowing out to lf. The uniforms were way ugly: burnt orange vests over black t-shirts with white pants and burnt orange socks. I'm still disappointed about the fact that they don't print the players' names on their jerseys anymore. But I guess that's another story. Sigh...
And then there was the dreaded intentional walk. Not that it made any difference in the outcome of today's game. It just seems a bad idea to put someone on base without at least making a token effort at getting him out. It almost always seems to give the opposing team a pshychological advantage. How many times does an intentionally walked player come around to score? In the games I've scored this season: 5 of 9. Those are not good odds. I really wish the coaches would give up on this tactic. Double sigh...
And so...
