Nebraska at Texas - April 22, 2006
Chais Fuller trots in after making his second great over-the-shoulder catch of the inning (the 3rd inning):
Carson Kainer waits deep in the box:
Coach Garrido strategizes with Bradley Suttle (who went on to hit a single), Chais Fuller, and Clay Van Hook:
Nick Peoples gets props from Drew Bishop after he makes a fantastic play in rf to end the top of the 4th:
Clay Van Hook turns around, bats left-handed, and looks at a strike:
Every now and then a nice little breeze to left would kick up:
Preston Clark looks into the dugout:
Coach Holliday makes a visit to the mound:
On the next visit, long tall Kenn Kasparek (also of the high sock brigade) takes over the pitching duties:
We had a player a few years ago (Jesen Merle) who always kept us guessing on the sock thing. Would his socks be high? Or would they be low? It was always a matter of great speculation. And, we could never find any rhyme or reason to which way he'd wear them. It was completely baffling. We finally found out (via the TexasSports.com page, no doubt) that he would do the opposite of whatever the starter was doing. Jesen pitched in relief and that was one of his things. You just gotta love baseball players, don't you? Yep.
Riley Boening makes his way back into the dugout with props all around:
