I spent my last two years of highschool at the International School Nido de Aguilas in Santiago, Chile. On one of our year-end class trips we went to the Tololo observatory. It was beautiful. There were condors hanging about. One of my friends (who was always going up to strays...even huge birds with giant wingspans!) managed to get within about 10 feet of one. I snapped this rather fun photo of a condor flying past the main telescope building. Alas, I only had one of those 110 instamatic cameras at the time so the quality isn't so hot. Still, seeing the beauty of the condor in flight framed against the deep blue sky reminds me vividly of those school trips. We had so much fun.
