Comments

I kept score as I listened to the game on the radio. It sounded like Fossum pitched a great game for A&M, getting a complete game and taking the Horns down in order in 4 different innings (1st, 5th, 6th, and 7th). Hale also pitched a pretty good game for Texas but without the run support, he ended up taking the loss. Simpson did a nice job in his second start of the season, going 2-for-4 with a double and one run batted in.

  - Cridland popped out to ss.
  - Moore lined out to 3b.
- A&M:
  - Tyner reached on an infield single and stole 2b on the first pitch to Scarborough.
  - Scarborough struck out swinging.
  - Holt struck out swinging. On the play, Tyner stole 3b.
  - Scheschuk flew out to lf.
2nd inning
- Texas:
  - Ivy singled to lf.
  - Sepulveda struck out swinging.
  - Ivy was picked off (1-3) during Johnson's at bat.
  - Johnson reached on an error (e5) but was thrown out trying to advance to 2b (4-6). 3b threw wide but 2b (backing up 1b) was able to get the ball bouncing off the retaining fence quickly and threw to ss for the out.
- A&M (1 unearned run):
  - Truitt reached on an error (e5). Aspito bobbled the ball a bit and couldn't quite beat the runner with his throw.
  - During Kuzmic's at bat, Truitt stole 2b.
  - Kuzmic walked.
  - Heaney out on a sac bunt toward the mound (1-4). Truit moved to 3b and Kuzmic to 2b.
  - Sobek grounded out to 2b (4-3, rbi). The announcers didn't say whether Kuzmic advanced to 3b or not.

  - During Scarborough's at bat, Tyner was caught stealing (2-6). The play was argued by A&M and the announcers said it looked like he reached 2b before the throw.
  - Scarborough walked.
  - Holt struck out swinging.
  - Scheschuk popped out to 1b (foul).
4th inning
- Texas:
  - Cridland flew out to lf.
  - Moore struck out looking.
  - Ivy singled to lf.
  - Sepulveda walked. Ivy moved to 2b.
  - Johnson singled to lf. On the play, Ivy tried to make it home but was thrown out (7-2).
- A&M (3 runs, 1 unearned):
  - Truitt walked.
  - Kuzmic tripled to the cf/rf gap (rbi).
  - Heaney struck out swinging.
  - Sobek singled off Nicholson's glove as the infield was pulled in to try to cut down the runner from 3b (rbi).
  - During Sandusky's at bat, Sobek stole 2b. Cox threw wide and Sobek moved on to 3b on the error (e2).
