Comments

I kept score as I listened to the game on the radio. It was a chilly afternoon in Lubbock with a stiff wind blowing to lf throughout the game. I guess the bottoms of the 5th and 6th innings tell most of the story. And, frankly, I'm glad I wasn't there to see the 5th inning debacle (particularly the fight in the stands) for myself. Tech had most of the highlights with Jordan having (what I'm guessing was) the game of his life going 5-for-6 with 3 homeruns, 4 runs scored, and 5 runs batted in. Texas' highlight was Cridland's 3-run homer in the 7th. Loeffler's attempted steal of home in the 2nd sounded too risky to me but the announcer said the Tech pitcher had a very slow windup and kick and he thought the play was a good one and that Loeffler looked safe. I guess Garrido was just trying to get something going. At least there weren't as many baserunning mistakes in today's game as in yesterday's.

And, so...
