Comments

I only managed to make it to the last game of the Longhorn Fall World Series. 'Wish I could've made the other games since this one proved to be rather fun. If chilly. The temperature started out at 56 (deg. F) and rose to a balmy 60. A stiff wind blew from left to right throughout the game and whipped around the stands. The crowd was pretty good sized. I'd estimate that between 300 and 400 people braved the elements to cheer on the squad. The white team jumped to an early lead but they didn't manage to hold onto it for long. All-in-all, I was quite pleased with the level of play shown by the players. I'm looking forward to the spring. What else is new?

    • Guerrero reached on a fielder's choice. He bunted to advance the runners. Kautsch fielded and threw the ball cleanly to Aspito in time for the out but he dropped the ball (E5). All runners safe.
    • Kade Johnson hit into a 4-6-3 double play. Meadows scored (no rbi) and Covert advanced to 3b.
    • Artie Johnson grounded out to 2b (4-3).
• 3rd inning
  • White (two earned runs):
    • Edelstein flew out to cf.
    • Roth walked on four pitches.
    • Sepulveda homered over the rf fence (2 rbi).
    • Rosenbeg grounded out to 2b (4-3).
    • Wells reached on an infield single to 3b. The ball took a tough bounce leaving Ivy without a throw.
    • Wells advanced to 2b on a passed ball during Aspito's at-bat.
    • Aspito singled to deep ss. Wells moved to 3b.
    • Nicholson popped up to ss.

    • Lowden grounded out to 2b (4-3).
    • Richardson was called out on strikes.
