Comments
I listened to the game on the radio and kept score as I listened. It
was a close one. The announcers said Speerstra told them between
games that his arm felt numb from the first pitch. He managed to make
it through the first inning but didn't feel he could continue. He
expects to be back for this weekend's series against Missouri.
Loeffler provided the offensive fireworks for the game...hitting 3
solo homeruns, tying a school record (this is the first time since 1984
that a Longhorn player has accomplished this feat). The offensive
"low-light" has to be the fact that all 6 runners left on base by the
Horns were in scoring position. And, so...

- Walsh walked and then was caught stealing during Harkrider's at-bat.

- Hooten, Day (trainer), and Garrido all went to mound to discuss
some pain Speerstra appeared to be feeling in his throwing arm.
He stayed in the game but the announcers commented that he
looked uncomfortable in his delivery.

- Simpson walked.
