Happy Mother's Day! We had a good day. I joined the folks, Jennie, and Eddie in Bastrop. It rained a lot this morning. I felt like I was driving through soup as I drove out there. My top speed for most of the drive was about 45 mph. The speed limit on most of the route is 65. 'Took a while longer than normal to get out there, as a result. Dad went up to check on the rain gauges and found something entertaining:
Note how the gauge on the left indicates that it rained 1.9 inches and the one on the right indicates 2.2 inches of rain. Hmmm...which one to believe?
There were a couple of hummingbirds feeding so I took some pictures. Alas, it was still overcast and I had to use a rather long shutter speed. Which means that I couldn't get the detail I wanted. But, I did get a few nice shots:
Those photos are of the same bird. In one, he's just looking around. In the other, he's strutting his stuff! Heh.
